Food Safety

We have continuous USDA supervision in both our shell egg grading plant and our Crystal Lake egg products facility. The entire process, from growing day-old chicks to delivery of the final product, follows a detailed HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) program. Creighton Brothers also subscribes to the United Egg Producers' Five Star Total Quality Assurance Program. Our laying hens and facilities are monitored for Salmonella Enteritidis by a third party.
This assures our customers that the eggs they buy are from flocks testing negative.

Animal Husbandry

Both management and employees are dedicated to being good stewards in caring for our poultry and livestock. Creighton Brothers was the fourth out of nearly 200 egg producing companies that have signed on to become a "Certified Company" in the United Egg Producers' Animal Husbandry Guidelines for U.S. Egg Laying Flocks. We believe that healthy, well-cared-for poultry and livestock are of utmost importance to our business success.

Environment

Creighton Brothers poultry and swine production facilities maintain state-of-the-art ventilation and manure management systems designed to reduce odors and flies. We also work with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) in manure management and waste water handling from our processing plants. Through our decisions and actions, we strive to be good neighbors in our community.
